Arapaho Snow: We had moved a photography workshop out of Yellowstone and down to Colorado due to an impending spring storm. We'd already spent one day hiking up a mountain on top of three feet of snow, and the workshop participants decided a less wintry adventure might be better. This is the scene that greeted me outside my tent on our first morning in the less-wintry environment! The silence was profound, and the depth of blues and whites receding into the distant clouds left me breathless. The light only held for a few minutes as the sun rose, but it was a wonderfully peaceful way to spend the moments after waking. Arapaho National Forest, Colorado, 2008. Edition of 200.
