A Rock, A River: These river rocks a few hundred feet above Tower Falls in Yellowstone National Park seemed about as big as my car. As I watched the rushing water swirl around them, I thought back on Maya Angelou's poem "On The Pulse of Morning," which starts, "A rock, a river, a tree," and goes on to describe the steadfastness of the rock. Of course that's a metaphor for so much more in our world, but because of that, this photo is to me, too. Released July 4, 2007.
