Aspens, Holy Cross Wilderness, Colorado. Released March 1, 2011. Edition of 200. I spent an incredibly pleasant day hiking through the Holy Cross Wilderness, which in places has aspens as far as the eye can see. At this altitude, a late July mid-day reached only into the mid-70s, and the gentle breeze coming off the mountains above made the leaves sound as if they were happily applauding life and all its wonderful possibilities. I didn't see a single person all day, the sky was a brilliant blue, and I couldn't help but think that if there is a heaven, it surely has a place like this.
This is a print I have in the entryway of my Missouri home, welcoming visitors with just a hint of the Colorado wilderness.
