Spring Melt: Nevada is perhaps best known for the bright lights of Las Vegas and the hot, dry desert that takes up most of the state. However, there are high mountain peaks in Nevada where the heavy winter snows don't melt until July. I took this photo above 10,000 feet elevation in Great Basin National Park, a landmark that highlights the fact that the water that runs off these mountains will never reach any ocean. Released February, 2011. Edition of 200 total prints.
